Welcome to A2 Media Studies

Hi everyone,

Welcome back and welcome to a whole new course: A2 Media Studies.

First steps:

  1. Set up your A2 blog: http://cheneyA2mediastudiesyourname.blogspot.com (ie the address for this blog but with your name in place of 'MrK'.

  2. Choose your coursework task. If you look at the specification (http://www.ocr.org.uk/download/kd/ocr_9646_kd_gce_spec.pdf) and go to pages 32-34. They are 13 possible briefs - you need to decide which one you're going to do ASAP and you need to STICK TO IT.

  3. Pick your groups. You can work in groups of up to four people. You will still be marked individually.

If you haven't attended the first lesson, please come and contact me to explain why and to let me know whether you are carrying on with the subject for A2. You should also look at the Cheney Takeaway Teacher video about A2 coursework: http://www.youtube.com/cheneytakeaway#p/c/F8A27BB1E0A4236B/0/ROeY2hq93Vk

It's going to be a really interesting course with lots of scope for creativity and flair, but it is also a course that expects a lot from the students who take it. You will need to be independent, self-motivated and organised.

See you in class,

Mr Kirkaldy
